TECHNOLOGY
HOLLOWTECH 2.0
In the world of top-level skiing, one thing is essential: top-notch equipment. At the beginning of this millennium, we revolutionized alpine skiing with HOLLOWTECH technology! We are equally thorough in Nordic sports. By removing unnecessary layers at the ski tip, the tips and skis overall are lighter. This gives them significantly better balance and reduces rotation when the ski moves forward, helping athletes conserve energy and reach their goals faster.
CAP CONSTRUCTION
All cross-country ski models have a CAP construction with carbon reinforcement. Its surface film wraps around the sides of the ski, perfectly protecting the core. All Kästle skis for classic skiing are ideally adapted to their area of use.
CORE
Survival is toughest in nature, and this is reflected in the ingenuity of applied solutions. Bees have developed ideally stable constructions with their hexagonal honeycombs, allowing maximum strength with minimal material use. For this reason, Kästle ski cores are made according to the honeycomb principle from natural fibers, reducing weight to a minimum while ensuring stability. The core retains elasticity and provides explosive rebound underfoot!
UL WOOD
The honeycomb structure is embedded in a torsion box made of ultra-lightweight paulownia wood, which we call UL WOOD. This guarantees optimal torsional rigidity and flex with minimal weight.
VARIANTS
Professional cross-country skiing is an extreme sport—for athletes and materials alike! With varying temperatures and snow conditions, there are variables that cannot be controlled. For optimal performance under the most diverse conditions, we have developed four ski surface variants.
PLUS
A combination of base and grinding that provides the best glide properties at air temperatures from +10° C to -10° C.
BASE
The type of base is optimally adapted to the area of use and conditions.
GRINDING
Besides the base, proper grinding, which must match prevailing conditions, has an immense impact on glide properties. The basic rule is: the warmer it is, the coarser the structure.
Grinding is done at an angle slightly above 0 °C from the base. Thanks to constant cooling during the grinding process, fine structures can be gently and precisely incorporated into the high-performance base.

STIFFNESS
For the production of our new cross-country skis, we use a specially manufactured press. With 40 adjustment options, it guarantees unprecedented optimal alignment of camber and stiffness.
Besides the ideal length, the choice of ski stiffness is crucial for every athlete.
For these skis, we offer gradations of MEDIUM and HARD.
