Detailed information

Product detailed description

SWIX T0021 natural cork with felt

SWIX T0021 is a practical ski service tool combining natural cork and polishing felt for applying, working in and finishing ski waxes. Its two different working surfaces allow multiple stages of ski base preparation to be performed with a single tool. It is suitable for both cross-country and alpine skis.

The cork and felt combination is primarily designed for finishing work during ski waxing, where even wax distribution and a well-prepared base surface are essential. Originally developed also for applying SWIX Cera F fluorinated racing waxes, it can be used with other wax products when the manufacturer recommends cork or felt application.

Natural cork for working wax into the base

Natural cork allows suitable ski waxes to be mechanically worked into the base surface. Friction generates heat, helping to spread and work in the wax evenly without using a waxing iron, provided that the specific wax is designed for this application method.

Corking is particularly practical when preparing skis before training or racing, applying selected racing waxes or making quick base adjustments in the field.

Felt surface for final polishing

Polishing felt is designed for even spreading and final polishing of suitable ski waxes. It helps create a smooth, evenly finished ski base surface, which is important for achieving optimal glide performance.

Combining cork and felt in one tool is particularly convenient during final ski preparation, allowing the technician to work with two different materials without changing tools.

Applications in racing ski service

SWIX T0021 was traditionally used to apply Cera F waxes, developed for high glide performance and resistance to dirt accumulation from snow. However, the use of these fluorinated waxes is now subject to restrictions, particularly in competitive skiing.

When working with modern fluorine-free waxes, always follow the application instructions provided by the wax manufacturer. Not all waxes are suitable for cork or felt application.
