SWENOR SKATE LONG WET, skate roller skis
Code: 065-000LWProduct detailed description
SWENOR SKATE LONG WET – skate roller skis
SWENOR Skate Long WET are extended skate roller skis designed for performance, racing and intensive cross-country ski training. This special version combines a long, lowered aluminium frame with SWENOR WET 100 × 24 mm rubber wheels, developed to provide significantly better grip on very wet and slippery asphalt.
Thanks to its extended construction, the Skate Long offers excellent directional stability and a skiing feel closer to full-length cross-country skis on snow. The WET version adds reliable performance in conditions where the grip of standard rubber wheels may become insufficient – for example during heavy or prolonged rain, on very wet roads, slowly drying asphalt or surfaces covered with wet leaves.
SWENOR WET – special wheels for wet conditions
The key feature of this version is the special SWENOR WET rubber wheels. While standard SWENOR rubber wheels already provide good grip on damp asphalt, the WET version is specifically developed for conditions where the road surface becomes particularly wet and slippery.
The special rubber compound provides increased grip on wet asphalt. This is especially important in skate technique during the push-off phase. When transferring power dynamically through the roller ski, a standard wheel can more easily lose traction on smooth, wet asphalt. The WET compound helps maintain contact with the surface, allowing a more secure and effective push-off.
The increased grip is also beneficial when changing direction, cornering and skiing over smoother sections of asphalt. The result is better roller ski control and greater confidence when training in the rain.
Designed for very wet and slippery conditions
SWENOR WET wheels are particularly suitable for conditions such as:
- roller ski training in the rain,
- very wet asphalt after heavy rainfall,
- roads that dry slowly after rain,
- smooth asphalt with reduced wet-weather grip,
- roads with wet leaves and other slippery sections,
- autumn training in changing weather conditions.
WET wheels are therefore not simply another speed option within the SWENOR wheel range. Their primary purpose is to provide improved traction in demanding wet conditions.
Approximately #2.2 rolling resistance
The special WET wheels have a rolling resistance of approximately #2.2. In terms of speed, they are therefore very close to the popular standard SWENOR #2 training wheels, while the rubber compound is optimised primarily for improved wet-weather grip.
This means that improved traction does not require the skier to switch to significantly slower wheels. SWENOR WET wheels maintain a natural training rolling resistance while adding the benefits of a specialised compound for wet asphalt.
This combination is particularly useful for competitive skiers who want to maintain a consistent training character regardless of changing weather conditions.
Extended construction for realistic ski training
SWENOR Skate Long uses an extended 630 mm aluminium frame. The longer construction increases directional stability and creates handling characteristics that are closer to a cross-country ski on snow.
Compared with shorter and more agile skate roller skis, the Skate Long requires more precise ski control and good skating technique. This makes it particularly suitable for performance-oriented and competitive cross-country skiers who use roller skiing as an integral part of their preparation for the winter season.
Lowered aluminium frame
The roller ski is built around a strong, lowered aluminium frame. Keeping the boot closer to the asphalt helps improve stability and control during skating. The rigid aluminium construction also provides precise power transfer during push-off and predictable handling.
The combination of a long wheelbase, low riding position and precise aluminium construction makes the Skate Long an excellent training tool for developing both skating technique and physical conditioning.
100 × 24 mm rubber wheels
The roller skis are equipped with 100 × 24 mm rubber wheels, a proven wheel size used on SWENOR skate roller skis. Rubber wheels provide natural training resistance and help absorb small imperfections and vibrations from the asphalt.
On the WET version, the wheel compound is specifically designed to deliver high usable grip on wet road surfaces. This is particularly important in skate technique, where reliable traction has a direct influence on the quality and efficiency of every push-off.
Who are SWENOR Skate Long WET for?
SWENOR Skate Long WET are particularly recommended for experienced, performance-oriented and competitive cross-country skiers who regularly complete a high volume of roller ski training.
They are an excellent choice for athletes who:
- want long and directionally stable skate roller skis,
- prefer handling characteristics closer to cross-country skis on snow,
- train regularly even in poor weather conditions,
- need increased grip during skate push-off on wet asphalt,
- want specialised wheels for rainy and autumn training,
- want to maintain natural training rolling resistance while using wet-weather wheels.

Maintenance after training in wet conditions
When roller skiing regularly in the rain, proper maintenance is particularly important. After every wet training session, remove dirt and moisture from the roller skis and allow them to dry thoroughly. Do not use a high-pressure washer or direct a strong stream of water towards the bearings.
Regularly check the condition of the rubber wheels, bearings, axles and mounting bolts. To promote more even wheel wear, we also recommend regularly swapping the left and right roller skis.
SWENOR Skate Long WET combine the stability and realistic skiing characteristics of the long aluminium Skate Long platform with the specialised performance of SWENOR WET wheels. The result is a high-quality training roller ski for serious skate technique training even when rain and wet asphalt significantly reduce the grip of standard wheels.
