Instructions - applying klisters on skis
Klisters are grip waxes specifically designed for wet and icy conditions.
- apply masking tape at the start and end of the grip zone
- roughen the base in the grip zone with sandpaper (grit 80-120)
- wipe off excess dirt
- for better resistance to wear, use base klister Base #290 (or blue klister #200)
- apply strips of klister onto the ski base
- heat the klister with a heat gun
- spread the klister on the base using synthetic cork
- apply strips of another klister (appropriate for the snow conditions) onto the base
- heat the klister with a heat gun
- spread/smooth the klister with your thumb
- remove the masking tape
- smooth the klister at the ends of the grip zone (edges formed after removing the tape) with your thumb
