Product detailed description
RED CREEK Long Distance Structure Tool Angled 0 to −10 °C – hand structure tool
Red Creek Riller 0 °C / −10 °C Oblique Cut Long Distance is a professional hand structure tool featuring a medium-fine oblique cut, specifically designed for long-distance racing in mild to moderately cold winter conditions. It is a new Red Creek product for the 2025 season, developed with a focus on stable glide and effective moisture management over long race distances.
This riller is ideal for mixed and semi-transformed snow, where precise control of moisture in the snowpack is required while maintaining low friction at higher speeds. The oblique pattern allows technicians to fine-tune the structure accurately to match the snow’s moisture content.
Structure tools (rillers) from Red Creek offer the widest variety of rill patterns on the market, enabling advanced structure combinations for specific conditions. The 0 °C / −10 °C Oblique Cut model works particularly well:
- combined with a linear structure for more humid conditions,
- on the rear section of the ski together with a linear riller for man-made snow,
- as a final structure for long-distance races and marathons.
Structure depth can be adjusted by application pressure:
- warmer conditions – apply more pressure for a deeper structure,
- colder conditions – use less pressure and/or more light passes.
As a general rule, coarser structures are used for warmer temperatures. Red Creek also recommends using a slightly coarser structure than usual when very high skiing speeds are expected.
Hand-applied structure partially wears off with each new waxing cycle, making this tool ideal for regular glide fine-tuning. To maintain optimal performance, Red Creek recommends cleaning the tool with a wax remover and an ultrafine steel brush to remove wax residues and fluoros.
In the post-fluoro waxing era, base structure plays a crucial role in achieving maximum glide performance. This structure tool is an essential piece of equipment for anyone looking to perfectly match ski glide to snow conditions and race distance.
