Yoko YXC Optigrip 2.0 Cross-Country Skis

Optigrip® is a sensational concept for classic skiing. These are skis for classic skiing that make skiing easier thanks to this technology.

Optigrip® is aimed at both performance and sporty skiing categories. We offer active or occasional skiers the option of completely maintenance-free skis. In some cases, use racing skis with Optigrip technology instead of grip waxes.

Skis with Optigrip® technology are based on a layer of water that forms under the base, and in conjunction with nanotechnology, a large amount of adhesion and very little friction is created. Adhesion allows the skier to push off, while friction allows for glide. The differences between the grip and glide of the skis are continually increased thanks to the development of new Optigrip coatings.

How to choose the right ski length?

Thanks to the complete Optigrip® coating, the skis are designed as maintenance-free skis. They are slightly softer and lower in profile.

The ski's stiffness does not affect performance because the ski uses the entire length for push-off and glide. Choosing the correct length is the only factor for selecting and ordering a functional Optigrip® ski.

These skis are usually chosen 5 – 25 cm above the skier's height, depending on the skier's abilities.

Select the correct ski length: 5-12 cm above the skier's height (beginner) and 13-25 cm (sporty, hobby)

How to care for the skis?

It's good to place the skis on the snow when they have the same temperature as the air, which enhances the ski's properties. If you put the skis on the snow directly from the car trunk, the snow under the ski will melt and freeze on it. All you need is a cleaning liquid to clean the base occasionally when it's dirty from grip waxes or dirty snow.

At temperatures around zero or on new snow, we recommend using Rex AntiIce, which prevents freezing.
