Detailed information

Product detailed description

Paraffin, Glide Wax SWIX LF04X, 60g, -12°C to -32°C

Temperature range from -12°C to -32°C

New cold wax for dry friction conditions, perfect for use as a standalone race wax in low humidity. High performance on artificial snow. Excellent durability.

In warmer conditions and high humidity, it is used as a base wax for powder Cera F, e.g., FC04X, which further enhances its performance.

Recommended ironing temperature: 155°C

LFX Waxes with Low Fluorocarbon Content

LFX waxes are fluorinated hydrocarbon waxes with low fluorine additives and a low melting point.
They are primarily used for training or races in combination with Cera F as a top layer or standalone as race waxes at very low temperatures.
The temperature range and colors of the LFX waxes correspond to the HFX category, but they differ in the 60-gram packaging. LFX waxes differ from CHX waxes by being somewhat more transparent.

Application Procedure for Glide Waxes - CH, LF, and HF

This procedure is a general recommendation from top service technicians

Source SWIX: Waxing Manual for Active Skiers and Marathon Participants

  1. Scrape off the travel wax applied after the last race or training using a plexi scraper SWIX T823 and groove scraper SWIX T88.
  2. Brush with a medium-coarse bronze brush SWIX T162 or steel brush SWIX T179. 5-10 strokes from tip to tail to remove remaining wax.
  3. Apply the appropriate wax according to daily conditions. Using an iron, drip wax on both sides of the groove. The wax should melt easily. Check the recommended ironing temperatures for the wax. Keep the iron in continuous motion from tip to tail of the ski. One pass should take approximately 8-10 seconds for skating skis.
  4. Repeat 3 times. Let the ski cool to room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  5. Remember to remove all excess wax in the groove and on both sides of the groove using a scraper SWIX T87 or SWIX T88. It is recommended to scrape the groove before scraping the base to prevent the scraper from jumping out of the groove and leaving scratches on the already scraped base.
  6. If working with hard and brittle waxes, such as SWIX CH4X/CH6X, LF4X/LF6X, or HF4X/HF6X, scrape off as much wax as possible before it hardens. Once the ski cools, continue scraping with a sharp plexi scraper SWIX T823. Other waxes like SWIX CH7X/CH8X/CH10X, LF7X/LF8X/LF10X, or HF7X/HF8X/HF10X are scraped once the ski cools to room temperature, approximately after 10 minutes.
  7. Brush the base with a medium-coarse bronze brush SWIX T162 or steel brush SWIX T179. 5-10 strokes.
  8. For final brushing and polishing, use a blue nylon polishing brush SWIX T160
