Sandpaper is frequently used when working with skis or snowboards. For downhill skis, freeride skis, or snowboards, you can wrap it around a file to remove burrs or smooth the edges. Sandpaper can also be used to round the edges at the tip and tail of skis or snowboards, reducing excessive sensitivity during control. You can also use sandpaper after repairing the base with polyethylene to blend the repaired part with the base or to add structure. Additionally, sandpaper can be used to treat the entire surface of ski or snowboard bases to remove scratches or oxidized material. However, after treating the base with sandpapers, it is necessary to remove burrs or polyethylene fibers using a Swix Fibertex cloth.
