The Silva Trail Runner Free Ultra received the prestigious ISPO AWARD 2020 for technological innovation.

The compact, seamless design without unnecessary cables, with energy running inside the elastic headband, is the unique Silva Free technology. The power source is located at the back of the elastic headband or can be stored in a backpack, waist bag, or running vest using an extension cable, which is appreciated during longer activities, as the headband with a reflector weighing only 55g will not restrict you.

The Trail Runner Free Ultra headlamp offers a light output of 400 lumens, with a battery box that includes a red safety light/blinker. Thanks to the Hybrid technology, it uses 3xAAA batteries or a rechargeable Hybrid battery 4.6Wh - 38007, which can be purchased separately. It includes the most powerful rechargeable battery with a capacity of 14.8Wh - 38008, provided in a neoprene pouch with Velcro, which can be attached to the back of the headband or stored in a backpack using an extension cable. This battery has 4 LEDs indicating the charge status and can be purchased separately.

Intelligent Light technology combines a wide light beam with long-range visibility, evenly illuminating the space in front of you.

The comfortable elastic headband with a silicone center holds perfectly on the head. For basic battery status information without removing the headlamp from your head, simply turn it off for a moment, and a green LED will light up for about 5 seconds = battery in good condition, or a red LED = battery nearing depletion. In sub-zero temperatures, extend battery life by placing it under your jacket using the cable.

The Trail Runner Free Ultra, including accessories, withstands splashing water from all angles - water resistance IPX5.

* Technical parameters of Silva headlamps are measured according to the ANSI FL1 standard. The battery life is given as the time until the light output drops to 10% of the initial value measured 30 seconds after turning on, not the time of complete discharge, after which the headlamp switches to reserve mode. Battery life is affected by ambient temperature and type of activity, e.g., during running or cycling, the reflector is better cooled, while sub-zero temperatures reduce battery capacity. The range is given as the distance at which the light intensity drops to 0.25 lux, approximately the light intensity created by the full moon on a clear night.
