SILVA Explore 5 Yellow, 700lm Headlamp

The new Explore 5 is the most powerful outdoor headlamp from Swedish brand Silva. A compact model with a power of 700lm and a weight of 116g.

Usage – outdoor activities / multisport.

Four intensities of white light, red and orange orientation LEDs. Silva Intelligent Light – even light distribution.

Thanks to the permanently integrated rechargeable Li-Ion battery of 7.5Wh, it achieves waterproofness of IP68 - long-term immersion up to a depth of 1m. After 500 charge/discharge cycles, the battery capacity decreases by about 30%. Four side LEDs indicate the charge level and the lock status of the button to prevent accidental activation, e.g., in a backpack.

For better handling and increased mechanical durability, the headlamp edges are covered with rubber parts. A helmet clip is included in the package.

Technical parameters of Silva headlamps are measured according to the ANSI FL1 standard. The battery life is given as the time until the light output drops to 10% of the initial value measured 30 seconds after switching on, not the time of complete discharge, after which the headlamp switches to reserve mode. Battery life is affected by ambient temperature and type of activity, e.g., during running or cycling, the reflector is better cooled, while minus temperatures reduce battery capacity. The beam distance is given as the distance at which the light intensity drops to 0.25 lux. This is approximately the light intensity created by the full moon on a clear night.
