REX 290 Base Klister, Foundation Klister

Foundation klister - a base klister that can be used under all other layers of klisters and hard waxes. It has very high adhesion to the ski base and also increases the wax's resistance to wear (especially on aggressive, coarse-grained, icy snow).

Instructions - Applying Klisters to Skis

Klisters are grip waxes specifically designed for wet and icy conditions.

• apply masking tape at the start and end of the grip zone
• roughen the ski base in the grip zone with sandpaper (grit 80-120)
• wipe off excess dirt
• for greater resistance to wear, use Base Klister #290 (or Blue Klister #200)
• apply strips of klister onto the ski base
• heat the klister with a heat gun
• spread the klister on the ski base using synthetic cork
• apply strips of another klister (klister for specific snow conditions) onto the ski base
• heat the klister with a heat gun
• smooth out the klister with your thumb
• remove the masking tapes
• smooth out the klister at the ends of the grip zone (edges formed after removing the tape) with your thumb

Removing grip wax is simple - first, heat the wax with a heat gun or hairdryer and scrape it off with a scraper. Finally, dampen a cloth or paper towel with wax remover and clean the ski base.
