What Tips Do I Need for My Poles?

In the selection of tips for roller ski poles, you will usually find a note that the tips are designed for poles with a specific diameter, e.g., 10 mm. This refers to the inner diameter of the tip, which is to be slid onto the end of the ski pole shaft.

We recommend measuring this diameter on the pole shaft about 3 cm from the end of the pole or where the existing basket ends.

How to Replace the Tips

To replace the tips, you will need:

• a source of dry heat - ideally a heat gun, hairdryer, or similar
• thermoplastic glue - special glue designed for attaching handles, baskets, and tips, or a hot glue stick (used in a glue gun)

Replacement Procedure

1. Gently heat the original tip or winter basket until the glue loosens.
2. Carefully remove the basket (be careful not to burn yourself).
3. Heat the glue and apply it to the end of the pole shaft (if there is enough on the pole, additional application may not be necessary).
4. Heat the end of the shaft with the glue and slide on the tip. Adjust the direction of the tip as needed.
