Code: HP25RV20Product detailed description
FENIX HP25R V2.0, 1600lm / 290m, Rechargeable Headlamp
The rechargeable headlamp Fenix HP25R V2.0 features two light beams with an output of up to 1600 lumens. The long-range reflector with a high-performance LED Luminus SST-40 creates a well-focused light beam with a range of up to 290 meters, while the second reflector with a powerful LED Cree XP-G3 S4 provides a very wide and smooth beam up to 50 meters. The long-range reflector offers a light output of up to 1600 lumens, and the wide beam reflector offers a maximum output of 400 lumens with a neutral light tint. Both LEDs can be operated independently, allowing you to combine the light from both reflectors to achieve a light output of up to 1600 lumens (when both reflectors are turned on simultaneously, their max output is 1200 + 400 lumens). The long-range reflector offers 5 light modes, and the wide one offers three. The headlamp is also equipped with a red LED with a 5-lumen output, which can be used to send an SOS signal in emergencies.
It is powered by a single 21700 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, included in the package, and charges via a modern USB-C connector directly in the flashlight. This battery is housed in a rear case, making the headlamp well-balanced on the head.
The headlamp is made of hardened aluminum and durable plastics, its construction is fully dustproof and waterproof according to the IP66 standard, and it is also shock-resistant to falls from a height of 2 meters. It is also equipped with a runtime extension function.
The HP25R V2.0 headlamp, which replaces the older HP25R version, is suitable for anyone who wants a strong and reliable partner in extreme conditions due to its high performance and endurance parameters. It serves well for work, e.g., rescuers, but also athletes, climbers, tourists, and other outdoor enthusiasts.
Tip: Check out the comparison of all Fenix headlamps with red light currently available. The article Do We Need a Headlamp with Red Light? can be found on our blog.
All headlamp parameters (light output, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
Specifications of the Fenix HP25R V2.0 Headlamp
- The light source in the long-range reflector is a white LED Luminus SST-40, the source in the wide reflector is Cree XP-G3 S4 with a neutral light tint, and a red LED Everlight 2835 is also available. All with a lifespan of 50,000 hours of lighting.
- A total of ten power modes:
- Long-range reflector: 1600 lumens (2 hours*) -> 1000 lumens (4 hours*) -> 400 lumens (8 hours) -> 150 lumens (24 hours) -> 50 lumens (56 hours).
- Wide reflector: 400 lumens (8 hours) -> 150 lumens (24 hours) -> 5 lumens (400 hours).
- Red light: 5 lumens (400 hours) -> red SOS signal 5 lumens (800 hours).
- Long-range reflector for a perfect light beam with a range of 290 meters (20849 cd).
- Wide reflector with a range of up to 50 meters (605 cd).
- * During prolonged use of the two highest light modes, the headlamp may heat up, activating the intelligent overheat protection function, which automatically reduces the output.
- Uses a 21700 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh (included). Alternatively, a 18650 Li-ion battery can be used for power, but an ALF-18 adapter must be purchased.
- Charging via USB-C connector, charging time for a fully discharged battery is approximately 4 hours.
- Switches are protected against accidental activation in luggage.
- The battery is housed in a separate case at the back, making the headlamp well-balanced on the head.
- The reflector can be tilted in several steps to set the desired lighting direction.
- Made of durable plastic and aircraft-grade hardened aluminum.
- Shock-resistant to falls from a height of 2 meters.
- Headlamp dimensions including mounts: 6 cm x 4.7 cm x 3.3 cm.
- Battery case dimensions: 9.9 cm x 4.1 cm x 3.95 cm.
- Weight 238 grams (including straps and battery).
- Waterproof and dustproof according to IP66 standard (resistant to strong water jets from all directions).
- Hardened ultra-clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating for the long-range reflector.
- Package includes headlamp, USB-C charging cable, 21700 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, four Fenix ALD-02 clips for helmet mounting, spare o-rings, cable clips.
- A Fenix APB-30 case and a set of black AFH-02 straps without reflective elements can be purchased for the headlamp.
Using the HP25R V2.0 Headlamp
There may be an insulating cover on the battery from the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.
The long-range reflector is turned on by holding the right button (about 0.5s), the wide reflector or red light is turned on by holding the left button (0.5s). Pressing the right button cycles through the long-range reflector modes in the order: 50, 150, 400, 1000, 1600 lumens. Pressing the left button cycles through the wide reflector and red light modes in the order: white 5, 150, 400 lumens, red 5 lumens, SOS signal. Both reflectors are turned off by holding the respective button, and after turning off, the headlamp remembers the last set mode (except when turning off in the highest long-range reflector mode, it will turn on in the second highest mode next time). Both reflectors can be turned on simultaneously.
Battery Charge Status Indicator - A short press of any button (headlamp must be off) activates the battery charge status LED indicator between the buttons. If the green light is on, it means the battery is charged to 85-100%, if the green light blinks, it means a charge of 50-85%. If the red light comes on, the battery is charged to 25-50%, and if it starts blinking, the battery status is critical, and the headlamp is charged to less than 25%.
Control buttons can be locked to prevent accidental activation, e.g., during transport in luggage - in the off state, press both buttons and hold them for at least 3 seconds, then the headlamp will flash red, indicating it is locked. To unlock, hold both buttons again for three seconds.
Overheat Protection: If the headlamp temperature exceeds 60°C, it will automatically reduce output in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. Once the temperature drops below 60°C, the output will gradually increase again.
Low Battery Warning: The headlamp will gradually automatically reduce the number of available power modes. When the batteries are completely discharged, only the lowest mode will be available. If the battery status indicator starts blinking during use, the battery is almost depleted.
Charging: Open the USB-C connector cover on the battery case and connect the included charging cable, plug the other end of the cable into a computer, power bank, or USB adapter to the power grid or USB car adapter (not included). During charging, the LED on the battery case lights up red. Once fully charged, it will light up green. Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 4 hours.
Warnings
- Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Use only quality Li-ion batteries for power.
- If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- Batteries are almost depleted – replace them or recharge the battery.
- Contacts in the battery holder are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the headlamp, two years on the battery.
