Detailed information

Product detailed description

FENIX HM70R + E-LITE, 1600lm / 186m, Rechargeable Headlamp

Cost-effective set of Fenix HM70R headlamp and Fenix E-lite mini flashlight.

The Fenix HM70R is an extremely powerful rechargeable headlamp offering a light output of up to 1600 lumens. The package includes a rechargeable 21700 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which charges directly in the headlamp via a USB-C connector. The headlamp is equipped with multiple light sources; the spotlight features a Luminus SST-40 LED that reaches a distance of up to 186 meters. The second wide reflector is equipped with a Cree XP-G2 HE LED with a warmer tone (neutral white) with an output of 400 lumens, providing a very wide and smooth light beam. Additionally, the headlamp has a red light with a 5-lumen output, capable of shining on the lowest mode for nearly 17 days and continuously flashing for over 33 days.

The construction from lightweight aluminum alloy ensures high durability, optimal cooling, and is fully waterproof according to the IP68 standard up to a depth of 2 meters underwater. The Fenix HM70R headlamp is an excellent choice for those who demand top performance and extreme battery life. It will be appreciated by cyclists, speleologists, mountain guides, ski mountaineers, climbers, rescuers, as well as industrial workers, regular tourists, or fishermen.

All flashlight parameters (light output, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Product Reviews

The well-thought-out solution for the waterproof charging connector, the combination of spotlight and wide reflector with red light, and total durability are the parameters that led Jiří Louthan from the Časnaryby.cz portal to include the Fenix HM70R headlamp in his fishing gear. Read his review.

"This is not a headlamp for runners and ultralight hiking enthusiasts. It will appeal to those who seek uncompromising performance and reliability in their hobbies or profession..." described Milan Gígel, an avid cabin owner, woodsman with thousands of kilometers under his belt, and a home handyman who is not afraid of anything. Usage

From the factory, there may be a white insulating cover on the battery inside the flashlight. Remove it from the battery before first use.

  • The headlamp turns on to the last used mode of the spotlight by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
  • The headlamp turns on to the red mode of the wide reflector by double-clicking the button quickly.
  • Turn off the headlamp by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
  • When the headlamp is on, switch between the spotlight and wide reflector by holding the button for 1.2 seconds. Both reflectors cannot be turned on simultaneously.

If the headlamp is on, you can cycle through the power modes by short pressing the button in the order of 30 - 150 - 500 - 1600 lumens (when the spotlight is on) or red 5 lumens - white 30 lumens - white 400 lumens - red flashing (when the wide reflector is on). The flashlight has memory for the spotlight and always turns on in the last set mode. The wide reflector always starts in red light.

Battery charge status indication: After a short press of the button (the headlamp must be off), the LED charge status indicator in the button is activated. Green light indicates the battery is charged to 85-100%, flashing green light to 50-85%, red light to 25-50%, and flashing red light to less than 25%.

Locking the headlamp against accidental activation: Loosen the battery cap of the headlamp by a quarter turn, interrupting the electrical contact, and the headlamp cannot be turned on. The button can also be locked electronically – when the headlamp is off, hold the button for 3 seconds. After locking, the flashlight will flash red. To unlock, hold the button again for 3 seconds.

Overheating protection: If the headlamp temperature exceeds 65°C, it will automatically reduce power in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. Once the temperature drops below 65°C, the highest power modes can be used again.

Low battery warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to lower power modes. If the headlamp is already in the lowest power mode and the battery is critically low, the indicator in the button will start flashing red. However, the headlamp will continue to shine until the battery is completely discharged. Note: The low battery warning is calibrated only for rechargeable Li-ion battery voltage.

Charging

Unscrew the waterproof cap on the side that covers the USB-C connector. Connect the charging USB-C cable to the headlamp and the other end to a computer USB port, a USB power adapter, or a USB car adapter. Any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can also be used for charging. During charging, the side button lights up red, and when fully charged, it lights up green. Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 4 hours. The used Li-ion battery does not suffer from the memory effect, so the headlamp can be recharged at any time. After charging, tighten the waterproof cap again.

Warning

  • Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
  • If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
    • The battery is almost discharged – charge or replace it.
    • The headlamp cap is loose – tighten it.
    • Electrical contacts are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

Warranty

Five-year warranty on the headlamp, two-year warranty on the battery.
