Product detailed description

FENIX HM65R, 1400lm / 163m + Fenix E01 V2.0, rechargeable headlamp

Set of Fenix HM65R and Fenix E01 V2.0 keychain flashlight. The rechargeable Fenix HM65R headlamp features a construction made from lightweight magnesium alloy, high resistance to water and drops, a unique dual reflector design, and a total output of up to 1400 lumens. One reflector creates a well-focused beam with a range of up to 163 meters, while the other reflector offers a very wide and smooth light spread. The spotlight provides up to 1000 lumens, and the floodlight offers a maximum output of 400 lumens with a neutral light tint. Both LEDs can be operated independently, and their light can be combined freely to achieve a light output of up to 1400 lumens. The spotlight offers four brightness levels, and the floodlight has three modes. It is powered by a single 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3500 mAh, included in the package, and charges via a modern USB-C connector directly in the headlamp. In emergencies, it can be powered by two disposable CR123A batteries.

The headlamp is made from magnesium alloy, which is one-third lighter than aluminum. Its construction is fully dustproof and waterproof up to 2 meters deep according to the IP68 standard and also shock-resistant from drops up to 2 meters. The headlamp is also equipped with a runtime extension function. During prolonged use of individual light modes, the headlamp gradually reduces output in small steps to achieve longer runtime. The optional beam shape makes this model one of the best and most versatile rechargeable headlamps on the market. It is suitable for professional use, various sports activities (hiking, camping, running, cycling, skiing...), underground exploration, fishing, and more. It will surely serve you well in any situation!

All headlamp parameters (light output, battery runtime, waterproofing, beam distance, and shock resistance) are measured in accordance with standards.

Specifications of the Fenix HM65R rechargeable headlamp

  • The light source in the spotlight is a Cree XM-L2 U2 LED, and in the floodlight, it's a Cree XP-G2 R5 with a warmer light tint, both with a lifespan of 50,000 hours.
  • Spotlight: 1000 lumens (2 hours) -> 400 lumens (22 hours) -> 130 lumens (48 hours) -> 50 lumens (97 hours).
  • Floodlight: 400 lumens (21 hours) -> 130 lumens (50 hours) -> 8 lumens (300 hours).
  • The spotlight creates a beam with a range of 163 meters (6677 cd), and the floodlight shines up to 55 meters (762 cd).
  • The headlamp comes with a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3500mAh.
  • As a spare battery, any rechargeable Fenix 1865 can be purchased.
  • Alternatively, two disposable lithium CR123A batteries can be used (do not attempt to recharge them in the headlamp).
  • Due to mechanical reverse polarity protection, batteries must have a protruding positive pole. Older Fenix batteries with a flat positive pole cannot be used.
  • Digital output regulation with runtime extension function, battery charge status indication.
  • Charging via USB-C connector, charging time for a fully depleted battery is approximately 2.5 hours.
  • Two switches for convenient operation and a lock function to prevent accidental activation in luggage.
  • The headlamp can be tilted in several steps to set the desired lighting direction.
  • Made from lightweight and durable magnesium alloy.
  • Shock-resistant from drops up to 2 meters.
  • Weight 147 grams (including battery).
  • Waterproof and dustproof according to IP68 standard (tested underwater at a depth of 2 meters for 30 minutes).
  • Hardened ultra-clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating.
  • The package includes a Fenix 18650 3500 mAh Li-ion battery, head straps, USB-C charging cable, and a spare o-ring.
  • A Fenix ALG-03 helmet mount can be purchased for easy helmet attachment.
  • A case can be purchased for the headlamp.

Using the Fenix HM65R headlamp

A black insulating cover may be on the battery from the factory. Remove it before first use.

The spotlight is turned on by holding the right button (about 0.5s), and the floodlight is turned on by holding the left button (0.5s). Light functions are switched by briefly pressing the respective button. After turning off, the headlamp remembers the last set mode. Both reflectors can be turned on simultaneously.

Battery charge status indication - After briefly pressing any button (the headlamp must be off), the battery charge status LED indicator between the buttons is activated. Four lit LEDs mean the battery is charged to more than 80%, three lit 60-80%, two 40-60%, one 20-40%, and one flashing indicates the battery is charged to less than 20%.

The control buttons can be locked to prevent accidental activation, e.g., during transport in luggage - in the off state, press both buttons and hold them for at least 3 seconds, then the headlamp will flash, indicating it is locked. To unlock, hold both buttons again for three seconds.

Low battery warning - when the voltage drops below a certain level, it automatically switches to a lower power mode, and if the battery status indicator starts blinking during use, the battery is almost depleted.

Charging: Flip open the USB-C connector cover and plug in the included charging cable, connect the other end to a computer, power bank, or USB adapter for the electrical network or car (not included). During charging, the status LEDs indicate the charging progress. After charging is complete, all four LEDs are lit. Charging a fully depleted battery takes approximately 2.5 hours.

Warning

  • Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
  • Use only quality Li-ion 18650 batteries, do not attempt to recharge disposable CR123A batteries in the headlamp.
  • If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
    • The battery is depleted – recharge or replace it.
    • The contacts inside the headlamp are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

Warranty

Five-year warranty on the headlamp and two years on the battery.
