FENIX HM65R, 1400lm / 163m, Rechargeable Headlamp
Code: HM65RProduct detailed description
FENIX HM65R Rechargeable Headlamp
The rechargeable headlamp Fenix HM65R features a construction made from lightweight magnesium alloy, high resistance to water and impacts, a unique dual reflector design, and a total output of up to 1400 lumens. One reflector creates a well-focused beam with a range of up to 163 meters, while the other provides a very wide and smooth light pattern. The spotlight offers up to 1000 lumens, and the floodlight provides a maximum output of 400 lumens with a neutral light tint. The operation of both LEDs is independent, allowing you to freely combine the light from both reflectors to achieve a total output of up to 1400 lumens. The spotlight offers four brightness levels, and the floodlight has three modes. It is powered by a Li-ion 18650 battery with a capacity of 3500 mAh, included in the package, and charges directly in the headlamp via a modern USB-C connector. In emergencies, the headlamp can also be powered by two CR123A disposable batteries.
The headlamp is made from a magnesium alloy, which is one-third lighter than aluminum. Its construction is fully dustproof and waterproof up to 2 meters deep according to the IP68 standard and is also shock-resistant to drops from 2 meters. The headlamp is equipped with a runtime extension feature. During prolonged use of individual light modes, the headlamp gradually reduces output in small steps to achieve longer runtime. The selectable beam shape makes this model one of the best and most versatile rechargeable headlamps on the market. It is suitable for professional use, various sports activities (hiking, camping, running, cycling, skiing...), underground exploration, fishing, and more. It will undoubtedly serve you well in any situation!
All headlamp parameters (light output, battery runtime, waterproofing, range, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with standards.
Fenix HM65R Rechargeable Headlamp Specifications
- The light source in the spotlight is a Cree XM-L2 U2 LED, and in the floodlight, it's a Cree XP-G2 R5 with a warmer light tint, both with a lifespan of 50,000 hours.
- Spotlight: 1000 lumens (2 hours) -> 400 lumens (22 hours) -> 130 lumens (48 hours) -> 50 lumens (97 hours).
- Floodlight: 400 lumens (21 hours) -> 130 lumens (50 hours) -> 8 lumens (300 hours).
- The spotlight creates a beam with a range of 163 meters (6677 cd), while the floodlight shines up to 55 meters (762 cd).
- The headlamp comes with a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 battery with a capacity of 3500mAh.
- An additional rechargeable Fenix 1865 battery can be purchased as a spare.
- Alternatively, two disposable CR123A lithium batteries can be used for power (do not attempt to recharge them in the headlamp).
- Due to mechanical protection against reverse polarity, batteries must have a protruding positive pole. Older Fenix batteries with a flat positive pole cannot be used.
- Digital performance regulation with a runtime extension function, battery charge status indication.
- Charging via USB-C connector, charging time for a fully depleted battery is approximately 2.5 hours.
- Two switches for convenient operation with a lock feature to prevent accidental activation in luggage.
- The headlamp can be tilted in several steps to adjust the desired lighting direction.
- Made from lightweight and durable magnesium alloy.
- Shock-resistant to drops from 2 meters.
- Weight 147 grams (including battery).
- Waterproof and dustproof according to IP68 standard (tested underwater at a depth of 2 meters for 30 minutes).

Using the Fenix HM65R Headlamp
A black insulating cover may be present on the battery from the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.
The spotlight is turned on by holding the right button (about 0.5s), and the floodlight is turned on by holding the left button (0.5s). Light functions are switched by briefly pressing the respective button. After turning off, the headlamp remembers the last set mode. Both reflectors can be turned on simultaneously.
Battery Charge Status Indication - A short press of any button (the headlamp must be off) activates the battery charge status LED indicator between the buttons. Four lit LEDs mean the battery is charged to more than 80%, three lit 60-80%, two 40-60%, one 20-40%, and one flashing means the battery is charged to less than 20%.
The buttons can be locked to prevent accidental activation, e.g., during transport in luggage - in the off state, press both buttons and hold them for at least 3 seconds, then the headlamp will flash, indicating it is locked. To unlock, hold both buttons again for three seconds.
Low Battery Warning - when the voltage drops below a certain level, it automatically switches to a lower performance mode, and if the battery status indicator starts flashing during operation, the battery is almost depleted.
Charging: Flip open the USB-C connector cover and plug in the included charging cable, connect the other end of the cable to a computer, power bank, or USB adapter to the electrical network or car (not included). During charging, the status LEDs indicate the charging progress. When charging is complete, all four LEDs light up. Charging a fully depleted battery takes approximately 2.5 hours.
Warnings
- Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Use only quality Li-ion 18650 batteries, do not attempt to recharge disposable CR123A batteries in the headlamp.
- If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher performance modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is depleted – recharge or replace it.
- The contacts inside the headlamp are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the headlamp and two-year warranty on the battery.
