Detailed information

Product detailed description

FENIX HM60R, 1200lm / 116m, Rechargeable Headlamp

Fenix HM60R is a high-performance rechargeable headlamp offering a light output of up to 1300 lumens with a beam distance of 120 meters in the main reflector. The second reflector, with a power of up to 350 lumens, provides a very wide and smooth light beam with a neutral white tint. This tint offers more natural and contrasting color rendering in terrain. The operation of both LEDs is independent, making the headlamp very easy to use (the beams cannot be combined). Additionally, the headlamp features a red light with a 5-lumen output. The package includes a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which charges directly in the headlamp via a USB-C connector. In the 130 and 350 lumen modes, the headlamp offers a special function called 'FREQUENCY SENSING', which detects movement and automatically adjusts the output according to the running speed (step frequency). This makes it suitable for night running, cross-country skiing, hiking, fishing, caving, and work use. The all-metal construction ensures high durability, optimal cooling, and is fully waterproof according to the IP68 standard up to 2 meters underwater.

Tip: Check out the comparison of all Fenix headlamps with red light currently available. The article Do We Need a Headlamp with Red Light? is on our blog.

All flashlight parameters (light output, runtime on batteries, waterproofing, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Specifications of the Fenix HM60R Rechargeable Headlamp

  • Light output and runtime are measured with the included 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh.
  • The long-range reflector creates a light beam with a distance of 120 meters (3596 cd), the wide reflector shines up to 33 meters (268 cd), and the red light has a distance of 5 meters (7 cd).
  • Electronics with digital regulation, reverse polarity protection, and overheating protection.
  • Powered by one rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh, included in the package. In emergencies, two CR123A lithium batteries can be used.
  • Memory for the last set mode of the long-range reflector (except when turned off in the highest mode, then it will turn on in the second-highest mode next time).
  • Memory for the last set mode of the wide reflector.
  • The headlamp can be rotated in the holder over a wide range to set the desired lighting direction.
  • Made from durable aluminum alloy with a hard-to-scratch surface - Type III hard anodized.

  • For easy helmet attachment, the Fenix ALG-03, ALG-04 mounts can be purchased.

Usage

A protective cover may be inside the flashlight on the battery from the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.

  • The headlamp turns on in the last used mode of the long-range reflector by holding the button for 0.5 seconds (except when turned off in the highest mode, then it will turn on in the second-highest mode next time).
  • The headlamp turns on in the last used mode of the wide reflector by double-clicking the button quickly.
  • The headlamp turns off by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
  • When the headlamp is on, you can switch between the long-range and wide reflectors by holding the button for 1.2 seconds. The reflectors cannot be activated simultaneously.

When the headlamp is on, you can cycle through the performance modes by short presses of the button in the order of 30 - 130 - 350 - 1300 lumens (when the long-range reflector is on). The flashlight has memory for the long-range reflector and will always turn on in the last set mode (except when turned off in the highest mode, then it will turn on in the second-highest mode next time). When the wide reflector is on, you can cycle through the performance modes by short presses of the button in the order of 5 lumens red light - 5 lumens white light - 70 lumens - 350 lumens - 5 lumens red SOS signal. The flashlight also has memory for the wide reflector and will always turn on in the last set mode.

Frequency Sensing - this function automatically adjusts the output according to running speed in the 130 and 350 lumen modes on the long-range reflector. The standard light setting is 150 steps per minute. At lower speeds, the output gradually decreases to 70%, and at higher speeds, it increases up to 150% of normal.

Battery Charge Status Indicator: After a short press of the button (the headlamp must be off), the LED battery charge status indicator in the button is activated. Green light indicates the battery is 85-100% charged, flashing green light 50-85%, red light 25-50%, flashing red light less than 25%.

Locking the Headlamp Against Accidental Activation: Loosen the battery cap of the headlamp by a quarter turn, interrupting the electrical contact, and the headlamp cannot be turned on. The button can also be electronically locked – with the headlamp off, hold the button for 3 seconds. After locking, the flashlight will flash red. To unlock, hold the button for 3 seconds again.

Overheat Protection: If the headlamp temperature exceeds 55°C, it will automatically reduce output in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. Once the temperature drops below 55°C, the highest performance modes can be used again.

Low Battery Warning: If the battery voltage drops below a set level, the headlamp automatically switches to lower performance modes. If the headlamp is already in the lowest performance mode and the battery is critically low, the indicator in the button will start flashing red. However, the headlamp will continue to light until the battery is completely depleted. Note: The low battery warning is calibrated only for the voltage of rechargeable Li-ion batteries.

Charging

Unscrew the waterproof cap on the side covering the USB-C connector. Connect the charging USB-C cable to the headlamp and the other end to a USB port on a computer, a network USB adapter, or a USB car adapter. Any mobile phone charger with a USB-C connector can also be used for charging. During charging, the side button lights up red, and when fully charged, it lights up green. Charging a fully depleted battery takes about 3 hours. The used Li-ion battery does not suffer from memory effect, so the headlamp can be recharged at any time. After charging, tighten the waterproof cap again.

Warning

  • Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
  • Do not attempt to charge disposable CR123A batteries in the headlamp.
  • Remove the batteries from the flashlight if it will not be used for an extended period or if the batteries are already depleted. Otherwise, some lower-quality batteries may damage the headlamp.
  • If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher performance modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
    • The batteries are almost depleted – recharge or replace them.
    • The headlamp cap is loose – tighten it.
    • The electrical contacts are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

Warranty

Five-year warranty on the headlamp, two years on the battery.
